When we set the table, along with the plates and glasses, we often bring out a carafe as well.

A simple gesture, yet one that carries a fascinating story: the word “caraffa” comes from the Arabic ġarrāfa, meaning “to pour.” It passed through Spanish as garrafa before finding its place in our language, alongside the more traditional “brocca.”

Today, there’s no real difference between the two terms — what truly matters is their purpose: to serve with elegance and make the table feel special.
