Climb Wild, Dream Big: The Legend of Chris Sharma

🤘What makes a climber legendary? Strength? Style? Sending the impossible?

🧗‍♂️Chris Sharma is all of the above—and then some. If you’ve ever pulled on rock and felt the magnetic pull of movement, you’ve felt his influence.

Here’s how it all started—and why his story still inspires so many.

Where the rock meets the sea 😍

📖 The Beginning

🧗‍♂️Chris Sharma began climbing at the age of 12 in Santa Cruz, California. By 14, he had already won the U.S. Open Bouldering Nationals, showcasing his prodigious talent early on.

🏆In 1997, at just 15, Sharma made the first ascent of "Necessary Evil" (5.14c/8c+), the hardest route in the U.S. at that time. He continued to push the boundaries with groundbreaking ascents like "Realization" (5.15a/9a+) in 2001, marking the first confirmed climb of that grade.

The legend himself 🙌

🧗‍♀️Climbing as Art

🧐 What set Sharma apart wasn’t just the grades. It was the way he moved: fluid, intuitive, wild. He didn’t just climb routes; he danced up them. His style redefined what it meant to be strong—not just in body, but in presence.

🌊 Sharma is renowned for popularizing deep-water soloing, a form of climbing without ropes over water. His ascent of "Es Pontàs" in 2006, a 5.15a route over the sea in Mallorca, stands as a testament to this daring style.

🔥 Why He Still Matters

💪 Even in recent years, Sharma continues to challenge himself. In 2023, at the age of 41, he completed "Sleeping Lion" (5.15c/9b+), one of his most challenging projects to date.

😍 Sharma’s legacy grows: through his gyms, partnerships, and ongoing climbs, he’s still shaping the culture. He’s not just a climber—he’s a symbol of what happens when passion meets the unknown.
