🏔️ Traverse the Teeth of the Alps: Tour des Dents du Midi 🇨🇭 |
Looking for a real mountain hike—not too wild, not too easy, with solid trails, great views, and a bit of challenge to keep things interesting? That’s exactly what the Tour des Dents du Midi delivers.
This 4-day loop takes you around a jagged line of seven peaks in the Swiss Valais region. You’ll hike hut to hut with a small group, carry your pack, and spend your days moving through everything from meadows to rocky ridgelines—with plenty of photo stops, snacks, and trail banter in between.

Are you ready for this to be your summer POV? 👀

🥾 A Proper Trek—With Some Steep Bits |
You’ll be hiking 7 to 17 km per day, with elevation gains up to +2000 m and a few sections where hands come in handy (there are chains in trickier spots). It’s not technical, but you’ll definitely earn your fondue.
Expect everything from high alpine passes to shady forest paths, plus sweeping views over Lake Geneva, the Rhône Valley, and—on clear days—Mont Blanc in the distance.
This isn’t a race. It’s a great excuse to spend four full days in the mountains with people who enjoy a good uphill as much as a good hut meal.

🏠 Mountain Huts That Feel Like Home |
At the end of each big day out, there’s a warm hut waiting. You’ll stay in authentic Swiss mountain refuges like Bonavau, Salanfe, and Chindonne—each offering bunk rooms, shared meals, and plenty of post-hike storytelling.
The food is filling, the atmosphere friendly, and the sunsets are free. It’s a great way to unwind and soak in the mountains, without needing anything more than a headlamp and a good pair of socks.
|
It’s not just the views that make this loop special—it’s the little moments in between. Marmots chirping from the rocks, alpine choughs soaring overhead, waterfalls tumbling down limestone cliffs, and wildflowers lining the path like confetti. The Valais region is rich in biodiversity, and hiking at this pace gives you the chance to actually notice it.
If you’re lucky, you might spot ibex high on the ridges or even a bearded vulture tracing circles in the sky.

🏔 A True Alpine Experience |
You’ll be hiking in a small group, guided by a certified local expert who knows the route inside out. The pace is manageable, the mood is relaxed, and you’ll have plenty of chances to ask questions, share snacks, or just enjoy the views in silence.
You do need solid hiking legs and a decent level of fitness—but no technical skills or summit fever required. Just a willingness to move, explore, and spend four quality days outside.

We’ve got a few spots left for August, which is one of the best times to hike the Dents du Midi loop: long days, dry trails, and crisp nights in the huts.
