Well, I’m always one step ahead.. and I’ve put together an in-depth guide with route details for wherever you’re planning to go. Honestly, they’re all incredible— but if you ask me, the Sharr Mountains might jusssst take the crown. 🤭 👑

🤓 For Beginners:

• Ceripashina: Gentle slopes with breathtaking views, perfect for building confidence. (~2-3 hrs ascent, ~2 hrs descent) 🏞️
• Popova Shapka Plateau: Wide-open terrain to practice turns and refine techniques. (~1-2 hrs ascent) ⛷
• Popova Shapka to Kosovo Snowfields: A mild cross-border route with powdery slopes and a cultural hub nearby. (~3 hrs ascent) 🌍

💪 For Experts:

• Titov Vrv (2,747m): A challenging ascent with thrilling steep powder descents. (~5-6 hrs ascent, ~3 hrs descent) 🏔️
• Ljuboten’s Eastern Face: Technical navigation through alpine meadows and couloirs, with views stretching to Albania. (~4-5 hrs ascent, ~2 hrs descent) 🌄
• Kosovo Ridge Crossing: A technical cross-border route through steep, rugged terrain. (~5-6 hrs ascent) 🎿

🤓 For Beginners:

• Bistra Foothills: Gradual climbs with panoramic views of Mavrovo Lake. (~2-3 hrs ascent, ~1 hr descent) 🌊
• Galichnik Circular Trail: Rolling meadows and gentle descents. (~2-3 hrs ascent) 🏞
• Lazaropole–Galichnik Plateau: Open terrain with minimal elevation gain, perfect for a relaxed tour. (~1-2 hrs ascent) 🥰

💪 For Experts:

• Mount Korab (2,764m): North Macedonia’s highest peak, offering steep ascents and technical descents. (~6-7 hrs ascent, ~3 hrs descent) 🗻
• Bistra Ridge Traverse: High ridges with steep inclines and sharp powder-filled descents. (~4-5 hrs ascent) ⛷

🤓 For Beginners:

• Big Lake Circuit: Peaceful Molika pine forests, glacial lakes, and easy descents. (~1-2 hrs ascent) 🌲
• Pelister Meadows Trail: Gentle meadows with breathtaking views of Lake Prespa. (~2-3 hrs ascent) ⛵
• Molika Forest Circular Route: Soft ascents and descents through dense forests. (~2-3 hrs ascent, ~2 hrs descent) 🍃

💪 For Experts:

• Pelister Summit Ridge: Exposed ridge climbs followed by pristine powder descents. (~4-5 hrs ascent, ~3 hrs descent) ❄️
• Big Lake to Golema Reka Traverse: Technical inclines and challenging descents for seasoned skiers. (~5-6 hrs ascent, ~3 hrs descent) ⛷

🛠️ Gear Up: Bring touring skis, avalanche safety gear (beacon, probe, shovel), GPS, maps, and layers for temperatures from 0°C to -20°C. Don’t forget crampons and an ice axe for advanced routes.

 

🌨️ Weather & Avalanche Safety: Use tools like Windy or Meteoblue for forecasts. Check avalanche risks with local guides or resorts, and carry essential rescue gear.

 

👨‍🏫 Go with a Guide: Local guides are invaluable for navigating terrain safely, especially if you’re new to the region or ski-touring. (All our trips run with certified local guides.. just saayinnngg 👀)
