⚡ This is the first of three emails to show you who we are, what we do, and how we do it.

Today, I want to tell the story of Mapo Tapo and its community 🧗‍♀️🥾🎿🏔.

To do that, I will answer these two questions:

• What is Mapo Tapo?
• Who is in this community?

We are an international travel brand partnering with local certified guides worldwide and a community founded by outdoor sports enthusiasts 🏔🥰. 

Mapo Tapo was born during the COVID-19 pandemic in August 2020. Not the best period for an outdoor sports travel brand 😅. But @Dani already left his job and was set to start Mapo Tapo🔝.

For about one year, we could not run trips. What did we do? We made a guidebook of the world 50 best climbing destination: The Climbing Travel Guide. Here is how it went:

• We launched a crowdfunding campaign on January 1 2021 and raised €24,620.
• We produced the guidebook, and shipped it to 800+ addresses worldwide in July 2021.
• The Mapo Tapo outdoor sports travel community was officially born with its first 587 members who backed the campaign.

In the meantime, the pandemic set off, travel came back, and we started doing what we love the most: connect you with local climbing, hiking, and skiing guides in fantastic destinations and find you travel buddies to go with 💥💥. Since then a lot has happened:

• We opened 40 different destinations around the world.
• 70K people joined our Instagram community where we talk about world class destinations where to practice our favorite outdoor sports.
• +1500 people from 40 countries climbed, hiked, and skied with our local guides around the world.
• We generated almost €1M for local guides and small local B&Bs worldwide.

Before that, let me ask you a couple of questions 👇:

Who are we?

• 🏔 We are outdoor sports enthusiasts. We are climbers, hikers, skiers.
• 🧳 We love adventure and outdoor sports. Traveling is our way of discovering new places and cultures around the world.
• 🌍 We are from different countries and love meeting people with the same passion, no matter where they come from. 
• 💪 We thrive in challenges. Being outdoors doing these activities can be tiring, but that is what makes us whole 🥰.
