Today, I will show you the coolest thing we do in Mapo Tapo: our trips 🌍.

Before @Dani quit his corporate job and founded Mapo Tapo he was travelling the world climbing, hiking, skiing and surfing. He has climbed in Jordan, hiked in Peru, surfed in the Philippines, and skied in Norway.

Every time he had to go on an outdoor sport trip he faced two problems:
👫 find the buddies to go with. It isn't easy to find friends with the same passion for these sports, and that can take days off work at the same time as you.
🔎 find a local mountain guide. It's even more challenging to scout the itineraries that suit your mountain experience, find the local guides to lead you safely on them, and organize all the travel logistics. You will have to navigate the web for days in search of outdated or incomplete information on the topic.
Trip after trip he realized that outdoor sports travelling is broken 💔.

The rest of the Mapo Tapo team and I felt the same problem, which is why we joined him on this mission.

When you land on mapotapo.com, you can filter all the trips by outdoor sport. Today we are active on different mountain sports that become visible on the website depending on the season and availability of trips. Here are all the mountain sports covered by our trips:

On mapotapo.com, among other things, you can search all the trips by destination. We currently have destinations all around world and we will be adding many more.
Mapo Tapo only works with local certified guides and small agencies 📝. All the partners are carefully selected and trusted by Mapo Tapo. Whenever we work with new partners, we verify all their certifications and insurance. Moreover, we interview them and collect as much feedback as possible from other sources.
Local partners run the trips 👷. Once you book, you can contact them directly regarding the trip. We will be present all along the way if you need extra support.
Why work with local guides? Because they are the most qualified and knowledgeable people to bring you climbing, hiking, and skiing in these fantastic destinations. We couldn't run all the trips ourselves. We would never be able to offer you the same experience they could 💪✨.
👫 Small groups
We do not run trips with huge groups. Usually the departures are confirmed with 3 people and have a maximum of 12 people, depending on the sports. This is for two main reasons:
✅ Safety. A guide can only watch so many people at the time.
🧲 Meaningful bonds. We want travelers to have the best possible experience. Bonding with fellow travelers is a big part of the trip experience. Having too many or too few people in a group makes it difficult to form such bonds. That is why we decided to only work with small groups.
