Two hiking adventures you don't want to miss in Greece 🥾🇬🇷

Greece's largely mountainous terrain — 🏔 comprising 80% of the country—offers plenty of hiking opportunities for hikers of all levels.

Many of these trails remain off the beaten path, providing unique and chill hiking experiences far from the usual tourist tracks.

Samaria Gorge hike in Crete island 🥾🏝🇬🇷

Samaria Gorge is the 🥈 second-largest canyon in Europe (guess the first one 😋). It is located in the White Mountains in West Crete, in the National Park of Samaria, and, yes, you can adventure all along its 16 km (10 miles). ✅🥾

The Samaria Gorge is a 16 km (10 miles) hike. It is considered a medium difficulty hike suitable to anyone with more or less hiking experience. You can decide to break it down and complete it in multiple days (you can join our 4-days hiking trip and meet other hikers like you, stress-free) if you don't feel fit enough to do it in a single day. Typically, it requires 5 to 7 hours to complete.

For those who don't prefer steep uphill hikes . Are you sure? 🤔 This is one of the most downhill hikes in the world. We can assure you it will make your legs burn 😏🔥

The hike starts at 1230 m (4000 feet) above sea level and goes all the way down to the shore. You have to go through the iconic "Iron Gates" to complete the hike. 🗝🔚

The Menalon trail: the first ERA certified trail in Greece 🥾®️🇬🇷

The Menalon Trail is a well-marked hiking trail through the Menalon mountains in Greece's Peloponnese region. It's the first trail in Greece to be certified by the European Ramblers Association, making it a top choice for hikers looking for an off-the-radar adventure.

The trail stretches along 75km and 2800m of elevation, it is split into 8 sections, and it usually takes about 5 days to complete depending on your hiking experience and fitness.

You can think of the Menalon Trail as a smaller Greek version of the Camino de Santiago 🥾🇪🇸. Along the trail you will witness the rich history of the area, dating back to the ancient Sparta 🤺; you will visit picturesque villages and cafes, free from the crowds and immersed in the nature. 🏞
