Send Tales: From Sea Cliffs to Sunsets โ Boulder Camp Sicily ๐ฎ๐น |
In todayโs Send Tales we follow Chelseaโs adventure at Boulder Camp Sicily โ a trip filled with deep water soloing, rope climbing after years away, home-cooked meals, and spontaneous dance parties under the Mediterranean sun.
Chelsea shares what surprised her most about the trip, how pushing through mental cruxes on the rock brought new strength, and the vibrant group energy that made every day an adventure. Letโs climb in! ๐งโโ๏ธ

Finding that perfect grip on Sicilian rocks ๐
|
๐ค What surprised you most about the trip - did it match your expectations? |
"I was surprised about the structure of the trip and how it was really in our hands to make the day what we wanted it to be. Our guide, Marco, was always providing suggestions of where to go and what to do based on weather. It definitely exceeded expectations for the trip!" ๐
|
๐งโโ๏ธ What was the highlight of your time in Sicily, on or off the rock? |
"Picking a highlight is so hard! I think on the rock, having a great group to really push me forward when I hit a mental crux was amazing. Off the rock, having really great conversations and dance parties at the crag." ๐ค
|
๐ณ Was there a moment you felt outside your comfort zone? What happened? |
"After Deep Water Soloing, we visited a crag with ropes. The area was so beautiful that we all felt like we wanted to try a route. I had not been on ropes in 2 years so I was a little nervous as I got on the wall but once I was up there it was so worth it! Such beautiful views and feelings of accomplishment." ๐๐ช

|
๐ค How did the guides or hosts contribute to your experience? |
"I canโt say enough about our guide, Marco. He was absolutely amazing. He was kind, encouraging and ready to help us. I loved his spirit and he really connected with our group. Our hosts are equally as amazing. Giorgia and David were excellent. The home cooked meals were to die for and the routes they have put together out there are stunning." ๐คฉ

Finding a time to relax after a successful day ๐ค
|
โบ๏ธ How would you describe the group dynamic during the trip? |
"The group dynamic was great. We all vibed really well together. Communication was great as we tried to figure out what we wanted to do that day or what crag we wanted to focus on. Everyone was climbing similar grades and we just had a ton of fun with it!" ๐ฅฐ

Teamwork makes the dream work ๐ค

โ๏ธ Would you do another Mapo Tapo trip? If so, where to next? |
"I would absolutely do another Mapo Tapo trip! Iโve got my eyes on bouldering in Spain!" ๐
