The Friday Pause

Doing things without a screen

Time fills up quickly when everything is always available. Messages, updates, reminders. Moments stack up, but they don’t always leave a trace.

Before the weekend begins, take a moment to slow down.
Not by disconnecting completely, but by choosing a few moments without distraction.

Here are three simple ways to live a little more analog this weekend.

Do something with your hands

A puzzle on the table. Cards in your hands. Clay, wood, paint, or paper.

Choose something tactile. Something that asks for patience and attention without rushing you toward a result.

Hands-on activities slow time naturally.
They pull you into the moment and keep you there.

Sit somewhere and watch what happens

A café. A park bench. Your own living room.

Don’t fill the moment. No scrolling. No checking the time. Just observe what’s around you. People passing by. Light shifting. Sounds overlapping.

It’s an underrated pleasure.
Doing nothing, while still being fully present.

A moment to reflect

Take a notebook or a piece of paper.

Write down one moment from this past week that felt unhurried. One moment where you weren’t thinking about what came next.

What made that moment feel different? And how could you make space for more moments like that?
