Hi! Jonay, CEO of WoodWatch here.
For most things in life, faster has become the standard. Faster replies. Faster delivery. Faster mornings. Faster everything. And somewhere along the way, I think we also stopped noticing small moments because we’re constantly looking at screens.
That’s probably one of the reasons I still prefer wearing an analog watch. Not because it’s more practical. Honestly, our phones already tell us the time perfectly. But an analog watch feels different.
It doesn’t interrupt you with notifications. It doesn’t pull you into messages, news, or endless scrolling. It just quietly does one thing, and does it well. I’ve always liked that.
There’s also something about the movement of a real watch that feels more human to me. The hands moving slowly throughout the day. The materials aging over time. The small scratches and marks that make it personal.
Digital things usually get replaced quickly. But good watches tend to stay with people for years. That’s also how we’ve always approached our designs at WoodWatch. Creating pieces that don’t feel temporary. Natural materials, timeless colors, simple designs you keep reaching for without thinking too much about it.
Lately, I’ve been wearing the Sailor quite a lot. The blue dial and kosso wood feel calm and understated, especially this time of year.
And when the days get sunnier, I still come back to the Forever Havanas sunglasses almost automatically. Easy to wear, simple, and familiar in the best way.
Maybe that’s what I appreciate most nowadays. Objects that don’t ask for attention, but quietly become part of your everyday life.
