The idea of the boiled wool sock that cures all ills has been debunked for decades but every year it comes back like flu and the ‘it was better before’ crowd is always on guard.

Look for a full sock, with absorption zones and elastic bands that make the foot work well in the boot and forget those old tips like double socks or heavy socks and put more faith in the technology used in the inner liners of your boot.
