574a7, what is the Mapo Tapo experience all about?

Hi 574a7,

⚑ This is the last of three emails to show you who we are, what we do, and how we do it.

Today, I will show you how smooth is to take part to a Mapo Tapo trip 🧳.

To do that, I will give you more details on:

  • the booking experience
  • the trip experience

πŸ’» Booking experience

Booking a Mapo Tapo trip is super easy. You need to go on mapotapo.com, select a trip that you like, and reserve your sport with a 33% deposit. Before you complete your reservation, make sure to check out the following on the trip page:

  • What's included
  • Experience and fitness level
  • Departure status
  • Payments & Cancellations

 πŸ’― What's included

Every Mapo Tapo trip always includes three main things:

  • πŸ§™β€β™‚οΈ a local certified guide.  They know the best spots in the area and will safely guide you through the activities, give precious tips on improving your skills, and share crazy stories of their adventures.
  • πŸ›Œ a shared accommodation. There is not a standard accommodation type. Here are the shared accommodations you might find: hostels, B&Bs, mountain huts, camps, tends and tea-houses...Do you know what a tea-house is πŸ˜…πŸ‡³πŸ‡΅?
  • πŸ”° full coverage. Every Mapo Tapo trip includes a rescue, injury, illness, luggage and cancellation insurance. You are always covered if (we hope not πŸ˜‡) something goes wrong. You can read more about all insurance terms & conditions on this link

 πŸ’ͺ Experience and fitness level

Every trip page shows you what is the sport experience and fitness levels required to participate to a departure.

πŸ§—β€β™‚οΈ Sport experience has three levels:

  • Open to all. Everybody can participate.
  • Intermediate. Participants should have at least a basic understanding of the necessary techniques and be comfortable with the physical demands of the activities.
  • Advanced. Participants are expected to comprehensively understand advanced techniques, safety protocols, and equipment use.

πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ Fitness level has three levels:

  • Light. There are no specific fitness prerequisites, just a fair physical condition.
  • Medium. Ideal for those possessing a good level of physical fitness.
  • Intense. Aimed at  those with excellent physical fitness.

 πŸ“… Departure status

Some departures are always guaranteed to run and others require a minimum number of participants to be confirmed (2 or 3). Groups are small to guarantee the best collective experience: you will find departures with a maximum of 12 people, depending on the sport.

Every departure has a status depending on the number of participants. Here are the status you will find on mapotapo.com:

Boulder Camp - Sicily

πŸ’Έ Payments & Cancellations

Mapo Tapo gives the maximum flexibility to its travelers. Here is how it works with payment and, eventually, cancellation of your bookings.

πŸ’³ Payments:

  • If you book more than 60 days prior the departure date, you can make a reservation by paying in full or by only paying a 33% upfront deposit. Then pay the rest 60 days before departure.
  • If you book less than 60 days prior the departure date, you can reserve your spot by paying the full amount.

❌  Cancellations:

  • If you need to cancel your booking more than 60 days prior the departure date, you have two options:
    • A voucher equal to the amount you paid (33% deposit or 100% full amount) valid for 2 years and usable on any trip.
    • Activate the cancellation insurance and get a cash refund equal to what you paid minus insurance fees.
  • If you need to cancel your booking less than 60 days prior the departure date you can activate the cancellation insurance and get a cash refund equal to what you paid minus insurance fees.

You can read more about payments and cancellations on our terms & conditions.
